Why is this a favorite photo? Keep reading!

On our first road trip from Ohio to Texas, we wanted to make the first day the longest of the two day drive. There are two reasons for this. The first is we always like to make the first day of a two day drive the longest day since we are fresher on day one. The second reason is we wanted to drive through Dallas around noon and miss the madness of the afternoon rush hour. Driving home from Texas, we do the same thing and drive the farthest on day one.

We arrived in Hope Arkansas at 10:37 pm after an 840 mile drive and decided it was time to stop for the night. A quick check of the Trip Advisor app and we decided to stay at this highly recommended Super 8 motel at exit 30. We were glad we did. Everyone that worked there was super nice, including Jessica at the front desk and Pat who runs the nice breakfast room. They are two excellent examples of southern hospitality.

On every subsequent trip to Texas we have stayed at the same place, and the people there remember us. On this particular trip it was a bright and sunny morning when we left so I decided to take a picture of the motel before we left for Texas. This is my favorite picture for March 2 because it reminds me of the very nice people who take care of us when we stay here.

This photo was taken on the morning of day two of the trip I wrote about in my favorite photo for March 1 article.

This “patriotic tree” was in the breakfast room at the Super 8. This is my second favorite photo for March 2.
