It all started October 9 with an email from Mary Beth Breckenridge, asking if she could interview me early this week for an article in the Akron Beacon Journal. She wanted to interview several photographers and get our suggestions for creating garden photos with a camera phone.

The first thing I did was go out in my garden with an iPhone and start taking photos. While I was still out in the garden, I processed a photo of a bee on a blanket flower in my iPhone (using the PS Express app), and emailed it to Breckenridge. Later on I went to work on my own article on garden photography with a camera phone. Monday we had our interview and I sent her to my article.

Yesterday the article appeared at Ohio.com and in the Akron Beacon Journal. The article incorporates ideas from me and the other two photographers that were interviewed. If you like to do garden photography with your phone, both articles are worth reading (links below).

The Akron Beacon Journal sent their own photographer out to do all the photos for the article but they decided to include the bee and blanket flower photo that I emailed to Breckenridge.

I have discovered (and other photographers I know would agree), no matter how many times you are published, it is always a thrill to see another of your images show up in print.
