This is my favorite photo for December 6. I was working with Anoush Anou, a professional model from New Zealand who has relocated to Ohio.

All of the light for this image is coming from a window to camera left. I metered for good tonality on most of her face while allowing for some bright highlights on her shoulder and the edges of her face.

I also decided to convert this image to black and white. I like both versions so they are both my favorite image for Dec. 6. Which do I like best? That depends on the day you ask me!

Christmas Season, Easton Shopping Center, Columbus, Ohio. December 6, 2009.

My second favorite image for this date was taken at the fountain in the Easton Shopping Center. Easton does not allow “commercial photography” in the shopping center so I had to get permission from the management to take pictures there.
