Sangre de Cristo Mountains. September 20, 1996.
My favorite photo for September 19 was taken from the Wet Mountain Valley in Colorado, looking west at the Sangre de Cristo (Blood of Christ) Mountains. It was taken on the same trip as the September 17 photo. After shooting in Rocky Mountain National Park, I headed south to this area.
Growing up in Colorado, this was a favorite place, and it still is. When it was too in Pueblo, our family would make the one hour drive to the the little town o fWestcliffe in the Wet Mountain Valley and go sightseeing or fishing in one of the many streams flowing out of the mountains. There are a lot of 14ers in the Sangre de Cristo range. It is a spectacular place.
