Far and away, my favorite photo for September 6 (or any other date), is our wedding. I didn’t create this image, but I am including it in my favorites anyway.

Tractor west of Monmouth, Illinois. September 6, 2016.

My second favorite image for September 6 was created a couple of years ago. I was driving across Illinois and saw a tractor for sale in a small field surrounded by corn. I was in a hurry (with 660 miles to drive that day), but I stopped anyway. In most of my images I go for photo realism (the photo looks like the original scene), but I decided tone mapping for over the top colors was the way I wanted to interpret this image. I used Photomatix software.
