The National Park Service turns 100 this year. Go out and celebrate by going to one of our national parks. Take your camera and create images at some of the most spectacular locations in North America.
The National Park Service was created August 25, 1916, which means we had several national parks before the park service was created to look after them. In addition to the natural wonders in our most famous national parks, the 400 plus units of the NPS include historic sites and national monuments.
There is so much to see and do. Pick one or more National Parks or other NPS sites and go explore. Here are some of my favorites. (I slipped in one state park just because!)
