POTD: “The Back”

Sarah

Sarah

This photo is all about the back muscles. This is another photo from my shoot with Sarah who is a professional fitness trainer.

Information on how to create an image like this is in this article. The primary difference between this photo and the photo in the prior article is in the placing of the studio flash units. The studio flashes need to be moved every time there is a change in body position to create the right shadows. For this photo the lights were set about 3:30 and 8:30. (Read the prior article for an explanation as to what this means.) The studio strobes were also at a higher power setting so a smaller lens aperture was used.

Photo Data: Canon 5D Mark III. Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens at 55 mm. 1/125 sec, f/11, ISO 100. Two Alien Bees B800 studio strobes bounced into umbrellas.
