You are looking at all of the thumbnails for every click of the shutter on a 4 1/2 hour photo shoot (that also includes travel time to a remote location, plus the time for us to go through all the photos and pick our favorites).
There were a total of 154 photos, but that includes gray or white card photos at each location to set a custom white balance on the camera, a photo of the model release, a photo of the list of our favorite images, plus 2 test photos of a dog that wandered onto the set. There were 139 actual photos of Beth with variations on 6 different “looks” in three locations with several wardrobe changes.
That is not a lot of photos. If you sat in on the cover shoot for a big name magazine in NYC, the shoot could last up to 8 hours, and the photographer might take from 40-50 photos per hour of actual shooting time, in between wardrobe and set changes. At the end of the day there might be hundreds of images out of which they will pick one cover shot and a half dozen interior photos. On the other hand, a few photographers are minimalists and take less photos. The moral of the story is to take a lot of photos and pick the best photos later.
I will post more photos of Beth at a later date but first I have to work on event photos for the local newspaper.
