Don’t Wait Too Long to Get Your Eclipse Glasses or Binoculars!

Celestron eclipse glasses and binoculars.

Celestron eclipse glasses and Celestron 10×42 eclipse binoculars.

The Great American Eclipse is Coming August 21, 2017. This is the best total eclipse of the sun in the United States in 38 years. Don’t wait too long to get your eclipse glasses, goggles, or binoculars. Due to the high interest in this eclipse, dealers could sell out long before the eclipse. There is already a delay of several weeks on orders for high quality solar filters.

Don’t trust your precious eyesight to some unknown, off-brand company.  My first choice for safe glasses and binoculars is Celestron. Celestron is one of the premiere telescope, binoculars, and astronomical accessories companies. I bought my Celestron telescope 30 years ago so they have been around for a while. You can order Celestron eclipse glasses and binoculars at the eclipse page of my Amazon powered photography store. You get the same great Amazon prices, service, and guarantee (and you help support this web site).

SUNoculars is a good source for low power (6X) eclipse binoculars and you can get them at the same link. For higher power binoculars (10X), get Celestron.

As of today (July 1), you can get a set of four eclipse glasses and an eclipse viewing guide for $9.95.

Wrap around eclipse goggles are $19.95.

Celestron 10×25 eclipse binoculars.

Eclipse binoculars are $29.95 to $69.95.

If you want to photograph the stages of the eclipse before and after totality, you will need a solar filter for your camera lens. One of the best sources for “White Light” solar filters is  Thousand Oaks Optical. They range in price from $49 to $79 depending on the size filter you need to fit to the front of your lens. They also have solar filters for telescopes.

Don’t wait. Order today.

It is not safe to look at the eclipse with your unprotected eyes. The warnings are for real and you could go blind. If you are in the path of totality, you can only look at the sun safely with your unprotected eyes only after totality has been reached (after the Diamond Ring effect and Bailey’s Beads). If you are not in the path of totality you should use eclipse glasses, goggles, or binoculars at all times.
