He did a lot of writing for Kodak and he was involved in the <em>Joy of Photography<\/em> series which was both inspirational and practical, and many of the Kodak photo guides.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>More recently, his books\u00c2\u00a0 <em>The Joy of Digital Photography<\/em> and <em>Exposure Photo Workshop<\/em> have gained a valuable place on my bookshelves. I&#8217;ve had my first look through\u00c2\u00a0 <em>The New Joy of Digital Photography<\/em>, and it comes up to the same high standards at the original.<\/p>\n<p>I have a number of books on photographic exposure, and Jeff&#8217;s book, <em>Exposure Photo Workshop<\/em> is one of my favorites.\u00c2\u00a0 It know it may seem strange to recommend Jeff&#8217;s book on exposure when my own exposure book just came out, (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0470647620\/jimdotycom-20\"><em>Digital Photography Exposure for Dummies<\/em><\/a>), but that&#8217;s just how it is!<\/p>\n<p><em>Winning Digital Photo Contests<\/em> will give you a good idea what kind of photos stand out above the crowd, not only for judges of photo contests, but for anyone else too. That means you will pick up ideas on how to make your photos stand out.<\/p>\n<p>Photography should be fun. One of the things I like to say after a class or workshop is: &#8220;Now get out there and have fun!&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 <em> The New Joy of Digital Photography<\/em> is all about having fun, with all kinds of suggestions as to how you can take better pictures while you are at it. If you haven&#8217;t read one of Jeff&#8217;s books, this is a good place to start. The book looks great with an abundance of photos, and the writing is in Jeff&#8217;s usual clear, lucid, fun to read style.
