My dad, Jim Doty, is the blond haired boy, 2nd from the left. Next to him is his taller, older brother, Raymond. On the left is Maude Manning and on the right is Curtis Manning. Dad and Raymond lost both of their parents at an early age. This is the couple that raised dad (and another couple raised Raymond). I remember &#8220;Grandpa and Grandma Manning&#8221; from childhood trips to Arkansas.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I know the date of this photo because after I photographed the very old print, I turned it over and the date was written on the back in pencil. This is the only childhood photo I have of my dad. He is three years old in this photograph.<\/p>\n<p>Several years after my dad passed I was visiting one of his relatives. He happened to have a few very old photos of the family. I grabbed my film camera (this was pre-digital) and took pictures of the old prints right there in his living room. He identified any people in the photos that I didn&#8217;t recognize. I sent copies of the prints to Uncle Raymond and he confirmed the people in the photos.
