“Why don’t you post your favorite photos at the end of the year?”\u00a0 Good question. A lot of photographers do that. I have not been one of them, at least until today. This morning I decided to pick my favorite photos for 2025 and post them. The individual photos are below.<\/p>\n

My 24 favorite photos came from my “most important photos” folder. They are arranged by date and all of them are in one folder. This is a screen capture of part of that folder. It shows of all my most important photos from 2025, plus a few from 2024 (top left) and 2026 (bottom right). You can see the year markers where 2025 and 2026 begin. Not counting maps and other non-photographic images, there are 275 photos for 2025.<\/p>\n

Favorite family photos, favorite portraits, and favorite nature photos go in this folder. I photograph events for the local newspaper. My favorite event photos go into this folder too.<\/p>\n

“Favorite” photos and “best” photos aren’t always the same. Favorite photos include images I am emotionally attached to, even if they aren’t “great” images. My best images are automatically favorite photos.<\/p>\n

Ansel Adams said, “Twelve significant photographs in one year is a good crop.”\u00a0 The things is, Ansel’s 12 best photos in any given year are way better than most photographers 12 best photos for the year.<\/p>\n
