This series of articles is kind of a nostalgia thing. Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places on the planet and it has been a while since I have been there. I am usually here in the summer or better yet in the fall, my favorite season in Colorado, but I am usually not keen on winter photography trips. But here I was, 18 years ago today.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This was the beginning of a 6 day photographic adventure in Colorado, my first in the winter. I have been in Colorado in the winter for short family events (like Christmas gatherings), but this was my first winter trip specifically for photography.<\/p>\n

On the way from Denver to Estes Park I took the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway and stopped along the way to photograph the outside of the St. Malo Center.<\/p>\n

The first day was cold with snow clouds swirling around the peaks.\u00a0 After a long drive there wasn’t much time for photography on the first day.<\/p>\n
