The Sugar Shack, Arlington Vermont. October 23, 2017.<\/p><\/div>\n

I stopped at the Sugar Shack just north of Arlington Vermont. They have several grades of delicious maple syrup and lots of other goodies. They also have a Norman Rockwell museum with Rockwell’s Saturday Evening Post covers. You can also buy small Rockwell reproductions.<\/p>\n


\nWe were having a nice visit and they learned I am a Norman Rockwell fan. They told me how to find his home and studio which was just a few miles from their store.<\/p>\n

I was in the museum when they came to get me. They were very excited. Coincidentally, Don fisher had just walked into the store and they wanted me to meet him. He was one of the models that posed for Rockwell’s “Breaking Home Ties”. It was a Post cover in 1954.\u00a0 Rockwell had his models pose while a photographer took pictures and Rockwell used those photographic studies as an aid in creating his paintings.<\/p>\n

We met and chatted. I bought a print of “Breaking Home Ties” and he signed it for me.\u00a0 Just think, I met Fisher 63+ years after he posed as the young man in the painting.<\/p>\n
