October 9, 1998.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>My fall in Michigan series. I stopped at a roadside park just south of Germfask Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. I was sitting at a picnic table and I happened to look straight up. I saw a blue river of sky winding it way between red maple leaves. I grabbed my camera and shot straight up.\u00a0 This is one of my favorite fall color images.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Two years ago in October I was back at the same spot. I wandered through the roadside park looking straight up.\u00a0 The tree branches have grown a lot.\u00a0 The leaves had just started to turn and the sky was a flat gray.\u00a0 I could not find a pretty photo, and certainly nothing like the image from 1998.<\/p>\n<p>If you are ever anywhere near Germfask Michigan, this roadside park is worth a stop in the fall. It is just south of Germfask. And a few miles to the north of Germfask is the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, one of my favorite places on the planet from spring through file. A drive through the refuge loop road is well worth your time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My fall in Michigan series.
