Last night I was photographing the local elementary and high school band concert for the local paper. The light level on the stage was low enough that I needed to use an ISO of 1600. That meant a fair amount of digital noise. <\/p>\n\n\n

Once again it was Topaz to the rescue. I picked the center of the image for the before and after illustration above. If you click on the image you will see a larger version and the difference will be more obvious. The overall “speckled” look in the before sample is the digital noise. It is most visible in the divider wall behind the band. Topaz got rid of most of the noise, providing a much cleaner, better looking image. The difference will not show up in the newspaper, but it most certainly will show up in a nice print.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
