April 28, 2011.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have been following this series, you know I went on a cross country family history trip in 2011 (with a scenic side trip through southern Utah). My plan was to visit relatives in Colorado, Utah, and Oregon and record family stories. This doll is part of that story.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>She may look just a little bit worn. She has been in the family for over 100 hundred years and has a lot of sentimental value. This doll belonged to my mother&#8217;s mother who was born in 1899. She gave the doll to my mother.<\/p>\n<p>While we were sharing memories on my visit to California, my cousin Sue (who has a remarkable memory, as I said in a prior article) described in detail one of her birthday celebrations. Her family drove from their home in Golden Colorado to our home in Pueblo and they had Sue&#8217;s birthday celebration with us. It was a highlight of her day when my mother gave Sue this doll as a birthday present.
