January 8, 1990.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ansel Adams is right. There is something wonderful about New Mexico. There is an abundance of great subjects to shoot and the light can be magical.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I was in southern New Mexico taking pictures along the west side of the Organ Mountains. The sun was coming up in the east and as it crested a ridge it cast a golden light on all of the grass and the cactus. I wandered around until I found a composition I liked with the right relationship between the cactus in the foreground and the mountains in the background.
