North Platte, Nebraska. October 26, 1972.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This is hands down my favorite image for October 26. I am holding our son Jim III a few days after he was born. We were visiting family and friends in North Platte, Nebraska. The camera was a simple Kodak Instamatic (you can see it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blog.jimdoty.com\/?p=20625\">in this article<\/a>). October 26, 2015.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I had a little bit of time left in my short (24 hour) trip to Yosemite (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.blog.jimdoty.com\/?p=21381\">see yesterday&#8217;s post<\/a>) before heading back to the San Francisco Bay Area. I decided to shoot El Capitan in infrared light using an infrared filter on my digital camera. In a straight black and white image the trees would be very dark. Infrared light makes vegetation light in tone.
