Kansas University “Jayhawks” volleyball players. Las Vegas airport. August 29, 2013.<\/p><\/div>\n

My favorite photo for August 29 is a result of a chance meeting in the Las Vegas airport. I was on one side of a divider of hanging chains and several members of the University of Kansas Jayhawk volleyball team were eating on the other side of the chains.<\/p>\n

My dad went to KU so I struck up a conversation. They were traveling as a result of a volleyball tournament. I asked them to look through the chains so I could create this image. One member of the team gave me her email address so I could send them a copy of the photo. We wrote back and forth several times. They had a great season so I also sent the team a congratulatory email.<\/p>\n

Living Art Studios, Lamoni, Iowa. August 29, 2017.<\/p><\/div>\n

I have a runner up photo for August 29. I was in Lamoni, Iowa visiting family. A dance, gym, and fitness studio in Lamoni was going to be listed for sale and a real estate agent asked me if I would take some photos of the studio.\u00c2\u00a0 I have done commercial property shoots for all kinds of companies like Hyatt Regency so I was happy to do that. I wanted to show the spaciousness of the room so I set my tripod low to the ground to accentuate the floor pattern and used the reflection in the mirror wall. Even though I have been doing commercial property shoots for years, it is till fun to see my photos go up on a commercial web site.<\/p>\n
