I think this is a great \t\t\tcompanion book to Tim Clark’s book mentioned above.\u00c2\u00a0 Exposure seems \t\t\tlike it should be on everyone’s mind when shooting images, but in \t\t\tthe digital point and shoot and camera phone age, I have seen that \t\t\tthe majority of camera users haven’t a clue what exposure means \t\t\texcept for the act of pushing the button. \u00c2\u00a0The first step is an \t\t\tunderstanding light and the measurement of it.\u00c2\u00a0 From the simple to \t\t\tcomplex Doty takes the reader into increasingly difficult and \t\t\tcreative terrain and shows how the camera and meter combine to allow \t\t\tthe photographer to create stunning photographs. Essential to this \t\t\tis the understanding of how meters work and the effect of shutter \t\t\tspeeds and aperture not only on exposure, but creative composition. \t\t\tFinally Doty takes the reader into real life to show how exposure is \t\t\timportant in a variety of real life situation. This is another solid \t\t\tbook for the both the beginner and intermediate photographer, and a \t\t\tmust read for learning how to get the most out of light. The book \t\t\tfinishes up with a great discussion of the “Ten Decisions that Will \t\t\tCost You.”\u00c2\u00a0 Great advice!<\/p>\n
