Then I pulled out my iPhone and took more poppy photos. This is one of them. The light was nice and bright and the semi-wide angle lens on the iPhone was perfect for the situation. And you can make a fairly decent sized enlargement. The iPhone also has a reasonable amount of depth of field.

This wildlife refuge is a favorite photo location of mine any time I am in the Bay Area. There is something going on any time of the year, and the bird species change with the seasons. In late March and early April there are usually a lot of poppies in bloom. The refuge is near the east end of the Dumbarton Bridge in Fremont, California.

Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge

Directions

From CA-84 (east of the Dumbarton Bridge) take Thornton Avenue south to the entrance at Marshlands Road.

From I-880 take Thornton Avenue through Newark to the entrance at Marshlands Road.

GPS address: 2 Marshlands Rd, Fremont, CA 94555

Links

Wild Turkey: DSLR vs iPhone

iPhone 7 Plus Photos from the Titans-Vikings Game

DSLR vs Camera Phone, Part Two

DSLR vs Camera Phone, Part One

There are times when iPhones can take great photos. Lots of light and the need for a semi-wide angle lens are ideal.

[18,26

post-15471","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-photo-locations","category-photographs
["GET
