California Poppies<\/p><\/div>\n

There are times when iPhones can take great photos.\u00c2\u00a0 Lots of light and the need for a semi-wide angle lens are ideal.<\/p>\n

I was at the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge taking wading bird and poppy pictures with a DSLR. Then I pulled out my iPhone and took more poppy photos. This is one of them. The light was nice and bright and the semi-wide angle lens on the iPhone was perfect for the situation. And you can make a fairly decent sized enlargement. The iPhone also has a reasonable amount of depth of field.<\/p>\n

This wildlife refuge is a favorite photo location of mine any time I am in the Bay Area. There is something going on any time of the year, and the bird species change with the seasons. In late March and early April there are usually a lot of poppies in bloom. The refuge is near the east end of the Dumbarton Bridge in Fremont, California.<\/p>\n
