One of the great things about winter is the return of the Snowy Owls. They are now back in the far northern U.S.<\/p>\n

The purple areas of this map show all the places that Snowy Owls have been sighted in November and December this year. Depending on the weather, there will be more sightings as the months go by and the owls will move farther south. Each year is a little different and last year was quite good. The more snow and cold the better.<\/p>\n

This map shows all the sightings for 2016 around Saginaw, Bay City and Akron Michigan. The labeled blue pin shows where I was in February when I photographed the Snowy Owl at the top of this article. The red pins mark sightings in the last 30 days.<\/p>\n
